Description

This module aims to provide an advanced level of understanding of Japan's role in the world. By the end of the module students will be able to i) demonstrate knowledge of Japan's role in theworld in the three dimensions of politics, economics and security in two key sites of international activity, the US and East Asia, andelsewhere. ii) Apply conceptual tools to analyse the role of norms,agency and structure in understanding Japan's role. iii) Demonstrate appropriate cognitive, communicative and transferable skills, includingthe ability to evaluate advanced concepts and theories. iv) Employ primary and secondary sources to present reasoned and effective arguments in written and oral form. v) Make individual and grouppresentation. vi) Pursue independent learning, and vii) show critical judgement.
